Bishop Ray Campbell was born and raised in Crosby, Mississippi. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Alcorn State University, his Master’s degree from Dallas Baptist University, and continued to further his education by completing his doctorate work at Vision International University.
He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his work in the ministry including Pastor of the Year and an induction into the Religious Hall of Fame. He has also received many commendations and proclamations from the House of Representatives and the Mayor of the City of Dallas.
Bishop Campbell is also a playwright. He wrote The Lost Son, which is based on the prodigal son, and the award-winning play highlighting the epidemic of domestic violence, What’s Behind The Make-Up.
Every week for the last 54 years, Bishop Campbell has hosted the Hour of Faith Broadcast where people call in their praise reports and prayer requests. His dedication to this service has earned him the distinction of having the longest-running and highest-rated broadcast on KGGR 1040.
He is married to Shelia Campbell and together they have five children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
